North Yorkshire Engagement Photography | Crathorne Hall | Jacob & Suzie
It’s been so great to be back at photographing couples for engagement shoots and intimate weddings after the crazy year of 2020 and in late May, I finally met up with Jacob & Suzie, who have had to postpone their wedding date twice due to the Covid pandemic. They plan to hopefully get married if all goes to plan later for their July wedding at North Yorkshie wedding venue, Crathorne Hall.
After an unusually wet May we were treated with sunshine and a warm afternoon for their engagement photography shoot at their wedding venue – Crathorne Hall in Yarm. Suzie had known she’d wanted to get married at this stunning local country house wedding venue since she was small and loved visiting once more with Jacob for their engagement photos.
North Yorkshire Country House Wedding Venue
Set in the stunning North Yorkshire countryside, on the edge of the Yorkshire Moors, it’s a wedding photographer’s dream - you approach Crathorne Hall down an impressive driveway through fields and woodland before the beautiful country house wedding venue reveals itself. With expansive woodland, a beautifully kept lawn and even a tipi for outdoor seating, the Hall is perfect for wedding photography and engagement photography opportunities.
They have a number of rooms licensed for civil wedding ceremonies and from 2021 you can even get married legally outside there too! With many hotel rooms on site, you could even take over this luxury wedding venue for the weekend with your guests for the ultimate indulgence.

What is engagement shoot photography?
An engagement shoot (or it can be called a pre-wedding photography or couples photography!) is a great opportunity in front of the camera if you’re shy or not used to the feeling of being photographed. It’s a relaxed session, typically around an hour and a half where we’ll chat through your wedding plans in more detail and usually take a walk around a location of your choice, stopping along the way to have some fun in front of the camera for natural engagement photos.
It’s also a great opportunity to get to know one another a bit more, as knowing the story of my wedding photography couples is always so important to me in order to be able to tell their stories in the best way!
