My Style

I’m a self-taught photographer who never stops learning and growing in my quest for making breathtaking images filled with joy. With my creative background, I’m always looking at people & situations from an adventurous, artistic and unusual perspective, showing an eye for originality. I believe that a great photo comes from with the intention with which it is created and the attention with which it is shot.

Your wedding will celebrate your dreams, your vision, and your romance. I can bring your story to life with my style, my craft, and my creative eye. Captured by invitation & hand-crafted in Yorkshire, photographing your love story is my honour and my privilege. I will go the extra mile to make you feel your very best, to become your friend, and to document your story for future generations.

One of a Kind

If you think your wedding is that little bit different, and you’d love your wedding photos to truly reflect your unique personalities, then I think we’d be a great match and I’m the one for you. Hopefully if you’re reading this then I’ve caught your eye - so the sections below will take you through my process and give you an insight into what it’s like to invite me to capture your love story. You can also read some reviews of my services and work, from some of my couples.

‘You don't make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all of the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.’

What To Expect

Congrats - You’re Engaged!

“I wish I could turn back the clock. I’d find you sooner so I could love you longer.” - Unknown

If you are thinking about when, where, how & enjoying the fun that comes with planning your wedding, then you’ll want to make sure all the aspects of your day are captured in full. When the last song is sung, your memories are all that remain of the day. Your love goes on and burns brighter, and I hope that with great photos you cherish, so do your memories and stories.

If you’re thinking of me as your wedding photographer, then please get in touch as soon as possible to enquire about my availability. I only shoot a small number of weddings each year so please always ask if I’m free - however far away or however near your chosen date may be.

I can also send over my wedding photography brochure to you for more details on packages, investment, what’s involved and more details for you. I’m happy to answer any questions you may have. I’d also love to hear a little about yourselves, and your plans. If I’m available for your date, we can also arrange to meet in person or over Skype/Facetime to get to know each other a bit better. I’ll then send over my booking form (which is required along with a deposit) to secure your wedding date in my diary. Example photos of each section can also be found in my Gallery Highlights.

Before the Big Day

"Be happy for this moment. This moment is your life" - Omar Khayyam

Once I have received your booking form and your deposit to secure your date with me, then I’ll be in touch with you nearer your date to check in with you and run through all the details and schedule of the day.

I also offer engagement / couple photo shoots in a setting of your choice to either celebrate your engagement, or for you to get used to being in front of the camera before your wedding. Please request my brochure for more details on how to book and what’s involved. All the details below are a guide of what to expect and can be personalised to your day - as no two weddings are ever the same.

Getting Ready

“Start your day with a dance party!” - Anon

I’ll arrive at the location where you’re getting married about an hour and a half before the ceremony to capture the fun of the bridal party getting ready. I can also cover the groomsmen getting ready if you’d like to split the time and the two locations allow. I then head to the ceremony venue to take some photos of guests arriving and of the decor/venue itself ahead of the bridal party arriving for the ceremony.

“Grow old with me, the best is yet to be” - Anon

During the ceremony, my camera uses the latest mirrorless technology and is unobtrusive with silent or very quiet shutter clicks, meaning I’ll blend into the background and you won’t even know I’m there. I’ll move around the venue to capture as many angles as possible. I do suggest to my couples that guests are asked to refrain from using their own phones or cameras to take photos during the ceremony. Phones and camera rarely look good in the photos you’ve invested in during the ceremony and your galleries are available to all your guests to download after you’ve approved them so no-one is missing out. It’s much better for your guests to be present and engaged during your ceremony. Confetti shots and larger group photos usually follow to make sure as many guests as possible are not missed.

Group Photos

“We take photos as a return ticket to a moment otherwise gone.” - Anon

Group photos can be catered to the size of the wedding and the time available in the day. I try to ensure they are done as quickly as possible so that you have more time to celebrate and spend with your guests. With the help of the wedding party, each group is gathered with guidance from myself for a variety of fun and traditional styles to ensure that all guests have a memory they will cherish.

Couple Photos

“Be brave. Be silly. Be your own magic. Be present. Be full of surprises. Be adventurous. Be kind. Be free. Be You” - Anon

If you like my style, and would like me to be a part of your day, then I request that you allow time in your wedding schedule for photos of the two of you together at various points through the day. This is a great time to spend just the two of you celebrating and taking in everything in the whirlwind of the day. It also means that you’ll get the pictures you’ll have on your wall for years to come and that capture the spirit and fun of you as a couple.

I’ll be steered by the bride and groom as to how adventurous or creative you’d like to be with the photos but I do like to ensure you have a range of images showcasing the two of you. As the light changes throughout the day, I’ll often grab you for 5 minutes here and there to make sure we get those magical images with the right light in the right setting. I use natural light where possible but have a range of lighting equipment to help when the weather isn’t playing nice.

“Let’s adore and endure each other” - Anon

Whatever form your wedding takes, I usually keep snapping away naturally as guests chat and moments happen. I will cover your speeches and/or any special aspects you have as part of your day. I take a break when you and your guests sit down to eat as no-one likes a mid-mouth/eating piccy! I do request a small something to eat at the same time so I can keep my energy up and make sure the end of the wedding is as well covered as the beginning. The Ceremony

“Don’t be a lady. Be a legend” - Stevie Nicks

I love all of the different forms of entertainment that couples organise for parties and dancing. By this point, I’ve usually integrated myself well with the guests and am one of the clan meaning I can get some really natural emotions from your guests. I’ll cover your wedding until around half an hour after the first dance but can be flexible to make sure no fun is missed out on.

Sneak Peak

“Time to make the magic happen.” - Anon

I aim to send you 5-10 sneak peek images of your wedding in the following few days after the big day so you can share with your family and friends and re-live some of the best moments of the day sooner rather than later. I’ll also share these on my social media pages at the same time.

The Big Reveal

“Keep some room in your heart for the unimaginable” - Mary Oliver

Your full wedding online gallery will be emailed to you within 6 weeks of your wedding date for you to sit down and enjoy together once normal life has resumed. You can pick your favourites in the gallery, share the link with your friends and family and download images. If you’d like to discuss having a photo album put together of the story of your day then this is all possible and I can guide you through this process. You’ll also receive a USB stick of all of your images in the post once your gallery has gone live.

I’ll also put together a wedding highlights video slideshow telling the story of the day which is a great way of having a snapshot of the best photos to share with your loved ones. You can see a few of my latest wedding reels here.
